It is all over the news.International Yoga Day.I would like share my thoughts about yoga on the lighter vein.I discovered yoga recently. My batch with youngsters, ladies and gentlemen initially, was total fun. Controlling my mind and body was very difficult during the first few classes.
My first thought when i saw the other ladies, "Thank heavens! I got a pedicure before coming here.
I am in love with that lady's nail colour."One of them standing in front of me with a perfect ponytail, reminded me that i should use serum to my hair.
My thoughts jumped to how happy that woman is now, looking at the size of her diamond."Stop thinking. You're supposed to be serene."
The squeaking voice of the innocent yoga instructor asking us to roll the shoulders, stretch, finding out if we are comfortable in the different, difficult positions, made us burst into laughter.
The very annoyed instructor, unable to control, asks us to meditate. "Oh!What crap. What are we doing now, all calm but lunatic inside?" My subconscious mind wandering from cooking, family, galavanting with friends, comes to a halt when we hear the snoring of a gentleman.Again all of us get up laughing.
My instructor asked me to join a demo on the yoga day,but pleaded,"Madam, don't start laughing because the others join you and it looks like a laughing club." I promised him that i will be serious, calm and will follow his instructions and will hold a banner which says,I am practising yoga. It relieves stress. It is a good exercise.( I guess that more insane people will join us. )
Now I enjoy meditation. It is wonderful, calm, not allowing my wavering mind to go far,far away.
I AM ATLAST SERENE.
