Teen Aches!

There I go, in sharing my son's typical teenage dreams

Though I have an open mind to  accept and expect little changes during teenage , tough for many, life changing for a few and shocking for me.

Till last year he was showing a lot of interest in academics, very focused , punctual , obedient and meticulous. He has a good memory and used it well in academics.

I had lot of hopes that he will be one of the school toppers in his 10th std exams a few months away from now .

There, in these few months his adolescence took over his mind and body telling me that he wants to be an actor.( only a HERO ok )

My simple, typical tambrahm  mind , thought that my son will take up science, become an engineer (though not from IIT) and go to The US to get a Ph. D is fading away. He promptly replies " Amma don't worry, I will still make it to the US for a song sequence with one of the pretty actress".

He practices all the dance moves, dresses up like his favourite hero , pierces his ears ,rehearsing his acting skills with the new app and answers me with cinema dialogues like :

               ME                                                                                     HIM

  • Think of another passion                             -            Zindhagi na milegi dhobara
  • Why not engineering?                                 -            Vellai illa Patadhari
  • Bring the water-can                                     -            Carries it in his shoulder like Bhahubali
  • Why low marks ?                                        -             Katham Katham \m/

May be the Y chromosomes of my husband has started to play a major role , as acting ( pun intended :p) and modelling runs in his family .

Just now I was relieved that my daughter dropped the idea of entering the media world, and this one has started now .

By reasoning, pleading , coaxing , threatening, bribing , putting my foot down , I think I will succeed in getting him a Ph. D ( Pass High school with Difficulty)

Bidding goodbye with my thoughts wandering how am I going to deal with my teenage son's dreams and tantrums.

Follow me .

  4. Modelling, acting are all forms of art by itself, aunty. Do give it a try when the interest level is so high. Engineering/B.Com is not the only way people are supposed to live, no such rules :D
